Al Aqsa School at the pinnacle of excellence

The National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric exams serve as the benchmark for education in South Africa. The achievements in this examination serves as a barometer of the quality of education delivered by an institute. The phenomenal achievements of the al Aqsa learners in the NSC 2019 examinations helps verify that the school has indeed delivered. Furthermore, the school has received affirmation from the department of education in the form of a provincial award. The class of 2019, it appears, has outdone all their predecessors and surpassed all expectations. Not only have they achieved a 100% pass rate, but 94% of learners have obtained a bachelor’s pass, thereby ensuring eligibility to study towards a degree. Seven learners obtained distinctions in all their subjects, the so called “full house” and 2 learners obtained 6 distinctions. A plethora of distinctions was obtained, with many learners securing 5 and 4 distinctions each. Twenty-two learners obtained “A” aggregates and in total the 101 matric candidates obtained 203 distinction in total. A highly motivated and well-disciplined group of learners, they have indeed brought honour to their alma mater.
One of the indicators of a quality pass is the percentage of learners with mathematics and physical sciences. It is encouraging to note that 90% of learners take pure mathematics and more than 60% do physical science. Of these 98% passed mathematics and 100% passed physical science. These learners are ready for tertiary studies, in fact a good percentage of them have already been accepted at universities for studies in their chosen fields. The school management thanks all role-players, especially the parents and teachers who have collectively brought honour to the class of 2019.
Message from the Hoosain family for the great achievement  of Hina Hoosain who received 7A’s with an aggregate of 83.7% said: “A warm heartful congratulations to the young, beautiful and intelligent Hina for achieving a slate of seven distinctions for matric 2019.” Her dad Farouk Modak said: “ The strength and power of a family comes from the excellence of its individual members. You have lived upto our standards and more. Well done!”
