Update from Trade Route Mall regarding Coronavirus

Message from Trade Route Mall Centre Management
17 March 2020
For the past several weeks Centre Management has been carefully monitoring the quickly evolving worldwide health crisis resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Symptoms of COVID-19 (Coronavirus):
• It can take up to 14 days from exposure to the virus for the symptoms to appear.
• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of breath
• Difficulty breathing
President Cyril Ramaphosa declared Coronavirus (COVID-19) a national disaster and with immediate effect, and he has advised the following:
• Any person/s who has been in contact or has travelled to a MEDIUM RISK COUNTRY(IES) AND/OR HIGH RISK COUNTRY(IES) since mid-February will be required to self-isolate until cured.
• Any person/s who has contact with or travels to a MEDIUM RISK COUNTRY(IES) AND/OR HIGH RISK COUNTRY(IES) will be required to self-isolate away from the mall for 14 days from the date of arrival in SA/date of contact, to try to halt the spread of the virus.
• The Government has suggested that the “no-handshake” rule be implemented. This means that handshakes, “high-fives”, hugs or any physical touch should be refrained from.
On a daily basis, it is encouraged to get into the habit of washing hands for 20 seconds with soap and water or to make use of an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
It is also encouraged to cough and sneeze into a flexed/bent elbow, or into a tissue which is disposed of in a bin.
As a shopping Mall, we take Coronavirus very seriously and we all need to be pro-active.
 As Centre Management:
• We have stepped up our efforts with regards to sanitising the mall with special focus being given to the restrooms, entrances, escalators and across the mall.
• Hand sanitising stations have been located within the mall
• Each entrance
• Close to Lifts
• Close to escalators
• Around the Mall
• Posters creating public awareness on the Coronavirus have been placed in the restrooms and around the Mall
• We have increased cleaning staff in all toilets and work closely with our cleaning service provider to ensure best practice is followed throughout the centre.
Should anyone in your family have travelled to infected areas or show symptoms of the virus in the past 14 days, please seek assistance from the Coronavirus Hotline: 0800-029-999. For additional information and support, SMS the word “Hi” to 060-012-3456. This is the official SA Government COVID-19 Support Service update. Alternatively visit www.sacoronavirus.co.za.
We urge you to co-operate with our sanitising staff in the interest of the safety of one and all.
