Police are investigating the harrowing death of a man following a fire on Gladioli Avenue in the Greyville area of Lenasia on Tuesday, 6th October.
Sergeant BP Ndimande of the Lenasia SAPS explained: “An African male alleged that he woke up and went to the toilet, at 110 Gladioli Avenue, Lenasia Extension 2, when he saw the shack of the tenant, a 59-year-old Indian male, on fire. He called his brother and they both went outside to investigate, and extinguished the fire.
“The deceased was burnt beyond recognition.
“The cause of the fire is unknown. We therefore, request the community to help us with the investigation and can call our Crime Stop (0860 10111) or Lenasia SAPS at (011)213-6000 or free from Cellphone at 112.”
