Police have made a breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of the ninth victim in a series of cases involving women currently being investigated in Gauteng.
Three suspects, comprising one man and two women, were arrested over the weekend by members of the Gauteng Murder and Robbery Unit in connection with the murder in Dawn Park, Boksburg.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court today.
The arrests come as the South African Police Service (SAPS) continues to investigate all nine murder cases, with each investigation receiving priority attention.
Acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, said investigators remained committed to pursuing every available lead and bringing those responsible to justice.
“We remain committed to ensuring that these investigations are pursued with the urgency and determination they require. Our investigators are following all available leads and are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice,” said Dimpane.
Further details surrounding the case are expected to be revealed during the court proceedings.
The investigation remains ongoing.
