Horror in Mamelodi as 14-Year-Old Twins Found Murdered in Family Home

A cloud of grief has descended over Mamelodi West following the brutal murder of two 14-year-old twin brothers who were found stabbed to death inside their family home.

The tragic discovery was made on Friday, 2 October 2026, when the boys' mother reportedly returned home from work and found her children lying unresponsive in a bedroom. Police and emergency services were alerted and responded to the scene, where the teenagers were found with multiple stab wounds.

Police have since launched a double murder investigation as detectives work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the killings.

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that officers were called to the residence after reports of a murder and found the lifeless bodies of the twins inside a bedroom.

"The victims were found with multiple stab wounds. According to police, their mother reportedly discovered the children when she returned home from work," said Nevhuhulwi.

She added that the circumstances leading to the murders remain unclear and that no arrests have been made.

"The police investigations are continuing to establish what happened and identify those responsible. We appeal to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward," she said.

The shocking deaths have left residents stunned, with many struggling to come to terms with the violent loss of two young lives. Community members have called for swift action to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Government has also condemned the killings, extending condolences to the grieving family and describing the incident as a tragic loss. Authorities have urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and to allow investigators the space to conduct a thorough investigation.
