Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with the murder of Economic Freedom Fighters member Monica Dube, bringing renewed hope to a family still grieving.
Dube, aged 44, was shot and killed in front of her relatives at her home in Wallmannsthal in June 2026. According to SAPS National Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) made the breakthrough following an intelligence driven investigation. Investigators linked a 39-year-old man to the crime, and he was arrested on Tuesday evening.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Cullinan Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, where he will face a charge of murder.
The arrest follows that of Sipho Mahlangu in July 2026. Mahlangu has appeared in the Cullinan Magistrate's Court on several occasions and remains in police custody.
